AKTIV Kommunikations-Marketing GmbH Celebrates 44 Years of Trade Shows in the USA

Who would have thought in 1980 that the success of AKTIV Kommunikations-Marketing GmbH from Germany would be so closely associated with the CES, the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas? In 2025, it will be 44 years since the first steps were taken at the Las Vegas Convention Center to realize a trade show booth for Blaupunkt.

The expertise of AKTIV in planning and implementing trade show concepts, particularly for the international market, has evolved tremendously over the years. AKTIV has become one of the few specialists in the field of face-to-face marketing, knowing not only all major international trade fair centers but also nearly all trade fair halls in the USA and Canada, including their specific working rules and techniques.

A central feature of AKTIV is the comprehensive range of trade show materials and furniture that the company provides. This includes truss, lighting for shows and film, as well as audio and video technology for presentations. Notably, integrable LED walls have now become part of the rental inventory, which has been built up in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years.

The friendship with Bob Cordaro has led to AKTIV finding a reliable partner in Las Vegas Expo for the trade show warehouse in the USA for over 20 years. This long-standing partnership enables the company to centralize the management and provision of extensive materials and equipment.

In the past, AKTIV introduced the beMatrix DMK system with a frame thickness of 55 mm for a trade show booth in the USA in 2010, at a time when the company was not yet active in the US market. Through contact with Robert

Laarhoven, AKTIV was then able to access the beMatrix b62 systems in the USA, which feature a frame thickness of 62 mm, utilizing them for customer-purchased booths. Simultaneously, the business relationship with Aluvision has strengthened, ensuring the continued availability of 55 mm frames. This allows AKTIV to effectively implement flexible and sustainable trade show booths.

Over the years, a personal connection between AKTIV and the trade fair professionals has also been established. Wolfgang Goesswein, a key pillar of the company, began with the CES in 1981 in Las Vegas and continues to contribute his extensive experience to this day. The transition to the new generation is symbolized by his son, Patrick Goesswein, who started his career as a student intern at AKTIV in Bangkok. With a Bachelor's degree in Design, he is now an integral part of the company and plays a crucial role as a project manager in continuing and implementing the vast knowledge and expertise of AKTIV into the projects.

On January 9, 2025, during CES, a celebration will take place to commemorate 44 years of AKTIV in the USA. The event will be held at the Peppermill with the Fireside Lounge on the Strip, a venue that was already utilized back in 1981.
