Barbar Bunjy Promoted to Global Account Director at Idea International

Born in Poland, Barbara Bunjy has always been interested in China. With a scholarship and working as a freelance translator, she lived in China for 12 years, becoming fluent in the language. When the Shanghai Expo opened, she found a position working with an exhibit house and began to learn another language, the language of events and expos. She took on 3 or 4 projects monthly, primarily in China, including Hong Kong. Her skills were perfect for European companies exhibiting in China.

Through her involvement with UFI and IFES, she found EWI in Shanghai. At EWI, she managed clients and developed supplier partnerships. EWI’s retail work involved shipping Chinese-built structures to the US, so she assisted with this line of business. Next, she worked for Polish Investment and Trade, a government agency promoting Polish exports abroad, but she missed event work.

At Partner of Promotion, she led teams responsible for executing high-budget EU projects and implementing promotional campaigns for Polish clients in Poland and abroad. She was responsible for industry associations' participation in foreign fairs and organized industry pavilions for Polish companies from the food sector, such as Foodex Japan, familiarizing the Polish Chambers of Commerce with the potential for business in Japan. She coordinated marketing efforts for Chinese and Japanese project execution. While working in this context, she encountered Idea International, where she is now Global Account Director —and she knew she had found a home where she could use her full range of talents and experiences and feed her passion for exhibits and events.Contact Barbara Bujny b.bujny@idea-intl.com
