Lee Knight Exhibit Design Scholarship
The School of Technology, Art, and Design at Bemidji State University is thrilled to announce the establishment of the Lee Knight Exhibit Design Scholarship. Lee Knight is an exhibit, live event, and experience industry icon who has generously created this endowment for student scholarships with his wife, Sharon Van De North.
Lee Knight, whose legendary career spans over four decades, is the founder and former CEO of EXHIBITOR Media Group. Widely recognized as the industry leader in trade show and corporate event marketing education, Knight has been instrumental in shaping the face of the trade show and event industry. His many accolades include the founding of EXHIBITOR Magazine, EXHIBITORFastTrak, CTSM Certification Program, EXHIBITORLIVE: The Conference for Tradeshow & Event Marketing, and the innovative Gravity Free Design Conference. Residing in Rochester, Minnesota, Knight and Van De North have shown unwavering commitment to supporting and uplifting the next generation of design talent.
Bemidji State University will award the Lee Knight Exhibit Design Scholarship to an exemplary student in the School of Technology, Art, and Design focusing on exhibit and experience design. Faculty will be looking for a "fearless designer" - an individual bold enough to take risks in design and achieve unparalleled success through those ventures. While excellence in exhibit and experience design is necessary, additional weight will go to students active in related activities and events.
"The establishment of this scholarship not only reflects the importance of designers practicing creativity and innovation in the world but also Lee Knight and Sharon Van De North's dedication to fostering budding talent," commented Dr. Sachel Josefson, Professor in the School of Technology, Art, and Design. "We are immensely grateful for their generosity and are excited to see the positive impact this will have on our students' futures," added Dr. Bonnie Higgins.
