Join EDPA for Legislative Action Week

The Exhibitions and Conferences Alliance (ECA) asks EDPA and other industry members to join Legislative Action Week on June 6th-10th.  This week-long virtual event will bring together advocates and leaders from across the business events industry to meet with their members of Congress about the vital role that face-to-face business events play in expanding economies and helping communities across the United States recover from the devastating economic and employment impacts of the pandemic.

ECA Legislative Action Week will focus on the vital steps that Congress can take to help get our industry back to business, including providing relief to small businesses, restoring communicable disease coverage to event cancellation insurance, and supporting the full restoration of visa processing at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.

On June 6th, ECA will host a preview session with a policy issues overview and interviews with key policy-makers and industry leaders. Virtual Congressional meetings will take place June 7th – 10th June.

As we emerge from the pandemic, advocacy has to be part of our industry’s DNA going forward. This year’s Legislative Action Week is an important opportunity for all of us nationwide to come together to make our voices heard virtually on Capitol Hill!

Event Description: We have been raising money for scholarships since 2002 and need your help to keep it going. The event will include golf, goody bags, door prizes, breakfast prior to the 7:30am shotgun start and an awards luncheon immediately following the tournament. Event Description:  Dr. Karen Cassiday, the managing director of The Anxiety Treatment Center of Greater Chicago. Dr. Cassiday is a clinical psychologist who will help arm us for the battles that may lie ahead.

Event Title:  Shoebox Project Charity Event

Event Description:  This event supports the Greater Atlanta United Way. It is called “The Shoebox Project”. Many companies and organizations around Atlanta participate by collecting items to pack shoe boxes and decorate.  The boxes will be distributed to men, women and children who are homeless or in transition.
