The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA held its Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 13th, at TCF Bank Stadium on the Twin Cities Campus of the University of Minnesota. Fifty-five attendees from twenty-three companies convened for a networking-cocktail hour, followed by a dinner and short program. The evening event included a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium (completed in 2009) and exclusive access to the playing field, locker rooms and presidential suite. As part of the event, chapter members were also invited to display their logo and message on the fourth largest video board in all of college football. Designed and built by Daktronics, the video board is 48 feet high by 108 feet wide and includes Daktronics’ HD-X light-emitting diode (LED) technology.

Upper Midwest Chapter To Tour TCF Bank Stadium
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA will be holding its Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 13th, at TCF Bank Stadium on the Twin Cities Campus of the University of Minnesota. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and will begin with a networking-cocktail hour, followed by a dinner and short program. It will conclude with a “Behind-the-Scenes” Tour of TCF Bank Stadium, Home of the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers Football Team. Cost is $40 for members, and $55 for nonmembers. Upper Midwest Chapter Holds Winter Meeting
The Upper Midwest Chapter of the EDPA would like to thank all who attended the Upper Midwest Exhibit Designers and Producers Winter meeting on January 12th, at the Skyline International Design Center.
Nearly sixty industry professionals turned out to hear newly elected EDPA President John Rose present highlights from the 2009 EDPA Economic Survey, and address the Association plans for the coming year. Attendees also heard a presentation from Mark Kuehl of EXHIBITOR Media Group, who presented EXHIBITOR magazine’s 2010 Economic Outlook Survey.
A big “Thank You!” was also offered to Mr. Mike Vekich, Executive Chairman of Skyline, for his hospitality, welcome address and facility tour .
In other news, Tom Trutna, President of BIG INK Display Graphics has joined the UMEDPA Board of Directors.
The next meeting of the UMEDPA will be April 13th; details to follow.

The EDPA Upper Midwest Chapter has announced its annual Fall Meeting will take place Tuesday, October 13, at the DoubleTree Hotel in St. Louis Park, Minn. The meeting opens with a social hour and hors d'oeuvres starting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Speakers will be Charles Pappas of Exhibitor Media Group and Jennifer Kane of Kane Consulting. The event will be moderated by John Pavek of Exhibitor Media Group. UMEDPA also notes they enjoyed a good turnout at their annual golf outing on July 27th. EDPA Upper Midwest Chapter Plans Program
The UMEDPA has announced its kickoff spring program, scheduled for Tuesday, April 21.
First up, facility host and meeting sponsor Pictura Graphics will share how they have chosen to be a industry leader by earning national certification as a Sustainable Green Printer. Then, John Pavek, VP of Publishing for Exhibitor and Corporate Event magazines will present the “latest and greatest” ideas from EXHIBITOR2009, held March 22-26 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
The Social hour with food buffet and cash bar runs from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., followed by presentations from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Upper Midwest Chapter Plans Program
The Upper Midwest Chapter will start the new year with a program to be held on Tuesday, January 27, at the Minnesota Historical Society's (MNHS) History Center. Featured presenter is Aaron Novodvorsky, Exhibit Project Manager of the MN150 exhibit—a tribute to Minnesota's 150 years of statehood. Novodvorsky will discuss how the exhibit department at the MNHS put together this celebratory display of 150 items from over 2,700 nominations submitted by Minnesotans across the state and across the globe.
